Rangers have not lost a game since Michael Beale took charge and have won every fixture barring one draw under their new manager.

They were brilliant in their 3-0 win over Hearts away from home on Wednesday night but the Gers are still sitting nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Dalziel admitted that Rangers should be delighted with how well Beale has done since taking charge of the club and their performance at Tynecastle also matched their good run of results.

He believes the Rangers boss still needs some more time to retool the squad but admitted that his side’s inability to get close to Celtic is not their fault.

The former Rangers star stressed that it is down to Celtic’s quality why Rangers are struggling to keep up with the Bhoys.

Dalziel said on Clyde 1: “I think everyone at Ibrox will be delighted.

“Yes, some Rangers fans were getting a little bit impatient with the performances but he put that right last night.

“They were brilliant at Tynecastle, I thought they played really good football.

“It takes time, I said he needs a couple of transfer windows. He has added a couple in January and it will be the same in the summer.

“It shows how well Celtic are doing as we said, he has not lost a game, won every game and drew one but they still sit potentially ten points behind.

“It shows how good Celtic have been.”

Rangers still have two Old Firm games where they could potentially cut down Celtic’s lead at the top.
