Leeds have suffered in their pursuit of Rayo Vallecano coach Andoni Iraola with the Spaniard believed to have rejected an approach from the Whites.
They sacked Jesse Marsch on Monday and were hoping to bring in a new manager before Manchester United visit Elland Road this weekend.
But that seems a bit optimistic now with Leeds looking at other candidates, including Feyenoord’s Slot.
However, the Feyenoord coach claimed on Wednesday night that he is yet to hear from Leeds and Te Kloese also stressed that the Whites are yet to contact Feyenoord as well.
The Feyenoord technical director is also certain that Leeds are not trying to agree on something with Slot behind the Dutch club’s back.
Te Kloese told Dutch magazine Voetbal International: “I have not heard anything from Leeds, neither official nor unofficially.
“I also know Leeds are a just club, so I don’t think they are playing this behind our backs.
“Last summer, the transfer of Luis Sinisterra also went in a very neat and correct way.”
It remains to be seen whether Leeds can sort out an appointment of a new manager before Sunday.
