David Moyes’ side are 17th in the Premier League table with 19 points from 21 games and just one point off the relegation zone.
However, West Ham have managed to knit together a three-match unbeaten run and they are looking forward to continuing it when they take on their London rivals Chelsea on Saturday.
Bowen is of the view that West Ham can build upon their recent performances, admitting that their last three results have provided the Hammers with confidence.
The forward believes that they need to start the game against Chelsea quicker than they did against Newcastle United last weekend and stressed the importance of pushing the Blues onto the back foot early in the game.
“I think we can build on our recent performances and we’ve got three good games behind us against Everton, Derby and Newcastle to give us that bit of confidence and feelgood going into this game”, Bowen told West Ham’s official site.
“We just need to start a bit quicker than we did at St James’ Park last weekend!
“That said, we reacted well and controlled the game pretty well and could have won it.
“We need to start strong this afternoon, put them on the back foot.”
Bowen has scored four times for West Ham in the league so far this season and will be hoping to find himself in the scoresheet on Saturday.
