The defeat to Everton was only Arsenal’s second of the league season and it provided the opportunity to Manchester City to close the gap with them, which they did not take.
Arsenal next take on Brentford this weekend and they will be looking to get their season back on track and continue their challenge for the title.
Odegaard insists that the Arsenal team are not surprised to be in the position they are in but have the awareness that they have room for improvement.
The Norwegian star revealed after the defeat to Everton, Arsenal have done their best training work in a quite a while, which according to him shows their determination.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Odegaard said: “For the players it is not a shock that we are where we are.
“We are enjoying it.
“But we know we can improve.
“No one is satisfied.
“Everyone just wants to get better.
“The last few days [after the defeat at Everton] have been maybe the best training sessions we have had for ages.
“That says a lot.”
Odegaard was criticised for his performance against Everton, after a season where his displays have earned rave reviews, and he will be looking to put things right against Brentford along with his team.
