The optimism from Everton’s 1-0 win over Arsenal in Dyche’s first game in charge of the club quickly disappeared at Anfield on Monday night.
Everton produced a disappointing performance in their 2-0 defeat against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby and never threatened the Reds, who have been struggling this season.
Stubbs admitted that getting three points from the games against Arsenal and Liverpool should be seen as a positive but conceded that Everton not putting any kind of pressure on Jurgen Klopp’s struggling side was a disappointment.
He stressed that goalscoring remains a major concern and Dyche could struggle to keep Everton in the Premier League if they do not start scoring more goals going forward.
The Everton legend took to Twitter and wrote: “Out of the two games, expected nothing but got three points!
“The disappointing thing was the Blues didn’t put that lot under any pressure at all last night when they were vulnerable!
“Manager has to get the balance right because if we are to stay in this league we [have] got to score more goals!!”
Everton have a big relegation six-pointer on Saturday when they will host fellow strugglers Leeds United at Goodison Park.
