In the absence of Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur, Devine has got the opportunity to train with the first-team, though he has failed to add to the one senior appearance he has got under his belt so far.

Stellini, who has been in charge of training in the absence of manager Antonio Conte, insists that the 18-year-old gives 100 per cent every time he trains and sometimes even goes on to play for the club’s Under-21 side in order to improve his sharpness on the pitch.

“Since we have lost Bissouma and Bentancur, he trains with us 100 per cent”, Stellini said at a press conference.

“Sometimes he goes to play for the U21s.

“He has the quality and the power in his mind, mentally he’s a good player and he trains every day, and he trains completely at our level.”

Stellini further took time to explain the absence of Heung-Min Son from the starting line-up against West Ham United.

“It was about conditioning.

“Sonny had a problem that he’s had for a bit of time.

“Sometimes players need time to recover.

“We have a busy period coming up and we need everyone 100 per cent.”

Devine has been a regular for Tottenham’s Under-21s side, featuring in 12 games for them so far and making two goal contributions.
