The Merseyside outfit are struggling this season and are in seventh place in the Premier League table, nine points behind the last Champions League spot.
Liverpool will take on Wolves on Wednesday before welcoming rivals Manchester United, who have not won at Anfield in seven years, on Sunday.
Klopp’s side lost their meeting at Old Trafford 2-1 in August and Aldridge pointed out that Liverpool owe their fans a good performance on Sunday after their horrible display against the Red Devils earlier this season.
The ex-Reds forward is of the opinion that Erik ten Hag and Marcus Rashford will be hoping to exploit the weaknesses in Liverpool’s defence and he stated that it is time for the Reds to show that they are not down and out yet.
“I just hope we are up for it on Sunday, as we owe our fans for that rancid performance at Old Trafford”, Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.
“Will Ten Hag be looking at the way we’ve been defending and thinking he can win at Anfield? Of course he will.
“Marcus Rashford will probably be thinking the same, but we can’t let that happen.
“We are at Anfield, a ground United haven’t won at for seven years, and it’s time to show United we are not down and out just yet.”
Last time Liverpool hosted the Red Devils at Anfield in April last season, Manchester United suffered a 4-0 humbling at the hands of Klopp’s side.
