After losing to West Ham United convincingly last weekend, Nottingham Forest find themselves only four points above the relegation zone.

Nottingham Forest next face relegation zone-dwellers Everton this weekend, followed by games against top four enthusiasts Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and fellow drop threatened side Wolves.

McCoist believes that the next three or four games are absolutely crucial for Nottingham Forest, even though they have managed to perform well in his eyes.

The ex-top flight star criticised Nottingham Forest for their display against West Ham though and reiterated the significance of the next three to four games for the Tricky Trees.

Speaking on talkSPORT, McCoist said: “The next three or four games for Forest are absolutely vital.

“They have been doing ok, putting up points here and there and things like that.

“But that was a pretty going-over they got in the second half against West Ham and I would go up to 13th and say the next three or four games for Forest will be vital.”

Nottingham Forest have spent time in the relegation zone this season and were considered nailed-on for the drop, but have clawed their way back to 13th in the table and will be hoping to not go straight back to the Championship.
