Bristol City lost their weekend clash against Cardiff City 2-0 and are now eleven points behind the last playoff spot, sitting in 14th place.
Next, Pearson will take his side to the John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday to lock horns with Warnock’s relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town.
Warnock stated that Bristol City have a squad full of exciting young players with a mix of seasoned individuals like Nahki Wells.
The Huddersfield manager is of the opinion that with such a quality squad, Pearson’s Robins should compete for the playoffs.
“They’ve had an exciting group of young players come through and I had the same at Sheffield United”, Warnock said at a press conference.
“You’re blessed that they all step up to the Championship and they have good players, plus they have players like Nahki Wells who has been good throughout his career.
“I’m surprised they’re not up fighting for the playoffs.”
Warnock also praised Bristol City’s attacking players and believes that the Terriers have to stay alert to keep up with the Robins forward line.
“I’ve had some right battles with their fans and I’m sure if we lose 4-0 on Tuesday they’ll be having a few rounds”, he added.
“Their front four are as good as anybody, whoever he plays.
“They’re all quick and very, very good.
“Our defence will need to be on their toes and play better than they have lately.”
The last time both sides met each other in August, it was Bristol City who came out 2-0 winners over the Terriers.
