Conte exploded in the post-match press conference after Tottenham blew a 3-1 lead at Southampton and only managed to get a point from the game.

The Tottenham boss accused his players of not handling any pressure and pointed out that there is a reason that the north London club do not compete for major honours in England.

Bosnich insisted that Tottenham’s new stadium means no manager will have massive funds to spend in the market but believes Conte has not managed to get the best out of a good squad.

He compared the Italian with Ten Hag and stressed that the Manchester United manager has succeeded in improving players while Conte has not managed to do that at Tottenham.

Bosnich said on Sky Sports News: “The bottom line is they have built a wonderful new stadium and they have got to pay for that.

“So, whoever comes in has got to understand that there are going to be limitations to what they can spend but they have got a very good squad.

“And I think, this has been part of his downfall.

“If you see at Erik ten Hag and some of the players he has improved, [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka comes straight to mind.

“If you look at the players at Tottenham and what he has got, can you put your hand on your heart and say that Conte has proved any of those players at Tottenham?

“I think you would struggle to say yes.”

Conte’s contract will expire at the end of the season but there are suggestions that Saturday’s press conference might hasten his exit earlier than expected.
