Henderson has been on loan at Nottingham Forest since last summer and was their first choice until he suffered a serious thigh injury in January.

Erik ten Hag was keen to have him back in the winter window when Martin Dubravka returned to Newcastle but the goalkeeper was not keen on returning to his parent club.

The 26-year-old is expected to try and leave Manchester United on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window.

And it has been claimed that two clubs have already been in touch with Manchester United over signing Henderson.

There has already been movement regarding Henderson’s future several months before the transfer window opens.

Two unnamed clubs are already in talks with Manchester United over signing him on a permanent deal.

Despite his injury problems, Nottingham Forest are expected to try and sign him in the summer if they survive in the Premier League.

Henderson has also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking for a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
