Fernandes was brought off in Manchester United’s penalty shootout win over Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.
The Portuguese was pictured in a protective boot earlier this week and there are question marks over his availability for Thursday night.
Erik ten Hag would want his main creative hub to be fit for a game that could go a long way in securing Manchester United of their top-four spot.
And it has been claimed that Fernandes is moving around freely without the need for crutches or a protective boot.
A decision on his availability could only be made after he successfully takes part in training with the squad today.
The Portuguese has been an ever-present figure in the Manchester United squad since he joined in January 2020.
He is also the stand-in captain when Harry Maguire does not play and is one of the leaders of the squad.
The 28-year-old Portugal midfielder is yet to miss a club game due to an injury in his entire career thus far.
