Chelsea have lost five on the trot in all competitions under caretaker manager Frank Lampard and are desperate to get a new boss in at the end of the season.
Pochettino is closing in on becoming the new Chelsea boss and an agreement is expected to be reached between him and the club.

The Blues are expected to be in the market for a new striker in the summer and Keys indicated that Kane’s relationship with Pochettino could lead him to Stamford Bridge in the coming months.
The forward flourished under the Argentinian at Spurs and it remains to be seen whether that could mean a move that would rock the rivalry between Chelsea and Tottenham.
Keys took to Twitter and wrote: “City were good again. Very good – in a simple 4-3-3.
“Just a thought – with Poch on his way to Chelsea – does that mean Kane might join him?”
Tottenham may well be unlikely to accept any offers from Chelsea for Kane given the rivalry between the two clubs.
