Leeds have only won one game in their last seven Premier League fixtures and have conceded 23 goals.
The Yorkshire outfit sacked Javi Gracia after their 4-1 humbling at the hands of Bournemouth at the weekend and have appointed Sam Allardyce to replace the Spaniard.
Dorigo is of the view that the Bournemouth game was a big opportunity for Leeds to strengthen their survival hopes and he stressed his disappointment with the result against the Cherries.
The Leeds legend pointed out that the problem is the way Leeds surrendered the match to the Cherries and believes that Saturday’s outcome is a symptom of a malaise the Whites have been suffering from for a long time.
“I think what’s clear is the malaise has been going on [for some time] – it isn’t just one game”, Dorigo wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.
“It’s been quite a few now.
“And the Bournemouth [defeat], it was really disappointing.
“That was another great opportunity for us and the way that we lost that game, that is the problem, not so much we lost, but the manner of it.”
Allardyce has four games to fix Leeds’ problems and keep them in the Premier League for the third straight season.
