Liverpool have withdrawn from the race after realising that they cannot afford to spend their budget on one player when their midfield needs a serious revamp this summer.

Real Madrid met Bellingham’s entourage recently and there are claims that the player is now convinced about a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

But the Spanish giants still have several obstacles to cross before they can complete the signing of the midfielder.

According to Spanish sports daily AS, Manchester City’s financial offer for Bellingham is far superior to Real Madrid’s.

They are prepared to offer more in terms of wages to the player and also put in more money for Dortmund in terms of a transfer fee.

But what is working in Real Madrid’s favour is that the midfielder is clear about joining them this summer.

However, Real Madrid is still far from meeting Dortmund’s €150m asking price for the player.

They are only prepared to offer a deal worth €120m but Dortmund believe Bellingham is worth far more.
