The Gers current academy director, Craig Mulholland, will leave the Ibrox outfit at the end of the season.

And Rangers are in search of a replacement for Mulholland, who has worked with the club for 20 years.

Former Rangers player and Dundee current head of youth, Wright, has been deemed an ideal candidate for the job.

Wright joined Dundee in 2019 and has been praised for the work he has done at the club.

The 51-year-old has previously worked for Rangers in their academy setup and also has experience working with several other clubs.

It has been claimed that Rangers are set to have talks with Wright regarding their academy director role.

Rangers are prioritising their youth setup as Michael Beale wants the supply line to the first team to flow and it remains to be seen whether the Glasgow giants will be able to convince Wright to aid them.
