The 25-year-old centre-back joined Stuttgart on a permanent basis last summer from Arsenal and he has been a constant presence in the heart of the Bundesliga outfit’s defence.

Mavropanos has drawn interest from Premier League outfits Wolves and Nottingham Forest and it has been suggested that the Tricky Trees tried to lure the defender to the City Ground in January.

The centre-back stated that he is not bothered by the transfer rumours linking him with a move and stated his aim to finish the season with Stuttgart.

“These rumours don’t interest me”, Mavropanos told German daily Bild.

“At the moment, my focus is on the last two games so that VfB stay in the Bundesliga.

“That’s my goal.”

Mavropanos acknowledged that anything can happen in football and refused to guarantee that he will play for Stuttgart next season.

“I can’t promise anything because things in football can sometimes change from one day to the next”, he added.

“But what I can say is that I feel good at VfB, I really enjoy my time here.”

The Greece international has a contract with Stuttgart until the end of the 2024/25 season and the club might be forced to sell him in the summer if they fail to secure Bundesliga safety.

However, Wolves and Nottingham Forest set to face competition from several European outfits for the signature of Mavropanos
