Radrizzani’s Leeds side are on the verge of being relegated from the Premier League this season but the Italian is already looking at investing in his homeland.

He held talks with Sampdoria on Monday in his efforts to buy the Italian club with his investment partner Matteo Manfredi.

They have tabled a second offer and their bid includes details of their financial and sporting plan for Sampdoria, who will be playing in Serie B next season after getting relegated from the top tier.

Radrizzani insisted that the reason he met the Sampdoria board was to make sure that they are aware that he and his partners are serious about getting the club up and running again.

He stressed that his group have a clear plan for Sampdoria and are acutely aware of the club’s history, culture and their importance to the fans.

Radrizzani said to Italian daily Il Secolo XIX: “We came to Genoa above all to get to know the board, to introduce ourselves to them as professionals and to talk about our background in sport and media.

“Then explain our project or rather our industrial plan for Sampdoria.

“We are ambitious and aware of the history, culture and brand of this company.

“And are aware of the passion and strength of their fans, who constitute a heritage of great value.

“We wanted to get to know the structures, there is so much to do, but there is also so much quality.”

Leeds could change hands from Radrizzani as well with the 49ers expected to complete a takeover in the coming months.
