On Sunday, at Elland Road, Sam Allardyce’s Leeds will welcome Tottenham, whom they have failed to beat in their previous three meetings, for their final Premier League fixture of the ongoing campaign.

The Whites’ hopes of survival in the Premier League will be decided on the final day of the campaign and just winning will not guarantee their safety as they have to wait for the results of their relegation rivals.

Dorigo believes that the Elland Road faithful will be supportive of Leeds during the game but warns that the atmosphere could change for Leeds if Tottenham start to control the game.

The Leeds legend pointed out that the Whites supporters have been wonderful throughout the campaign and is hoping that the Yorkshire outfit will be able to pull off a great escape from relegation on Sunday.

“The atmosphere at Elland Road will be supportive to start with as it always is”, Dorigo wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column.

“It’s just what happens on the pitch.

“The fans have been wonderful, everyone wants the right result but equally everyone is frustrated and if it starts to go against us it will be a difficult atmosphere.

“We can only hope, now, that it doesn’t come to that and we pull off what really would be the greatest escape.”

Leeds are winless in their last eight games and on Sunday they face a must win situation against Spurs.
