Celtic are reeling from the blow of losing the hugely successful Ange Postecoglou who was confirmed as the new Tottenham manager today.

The Scottish champions are now staring at the prospect of seeking a replacement for a man who won the domestic treble in his last season at Parkhead.

The club are bouncing around names inside Parkhead but they have a clear interest in Maresca.

The Italian was on Celtic’s wish list before they appointed Postecoglou in 2021 and they are now expected to revive their interest in him.

It has been claimed that Manchester City are preparing to receive an official approach from Celtic for Maresca.

He rejoined Manchester City last summer and became part of Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff.

Maresca previously managed Parma and was also in charge of the Manchester City Under-23s.

The Italian recently knocked back an offer from Southampton and is currently preparing for Manchester City’s Champions League final against Inter this weekend.

Celtic are set to make tentative contact this week and will discuss the potential in further detail after the Champions League final.
