The 32-year-old midfielder played a big part in Manchester City winning the treble last season and scored the two goals that won his side the FA Cup final.

However, his contract is set to expire at the end of June and he has been pondering over leaving the Premier League champions this summer.

Pep Guardiola wants to keep him but Barcelona have been in talks with his representatives for months over taking the German to Nou Camp.

And according to Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo, the midfielder is close to giving his final approval to a move to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants were worried last week when Gundogan asked for more time to reflect on his decision.

But there has been contact between his representatives and Barcelona over the weekend over the potential move.

And Barcelona are now confident that Gundogan is close to saying yes to the transfer this summer.

Xavi Hernandez has been big on getting him and has planned his transfer strategy on the German’s potential arrival.

Gundogan also has an offer from Arsenal and a big money proposal from Saudi Arabia has also arrived on his table.

However, the German is now likely to move to Barcelona if he doesn’t sign a new deal with Manchester City.
