Leutwiler, 34, joined Latics in 2021 and witnessed his side’s relegation from the EFL in 2022.

He did not make a single appearance for Oldham last season after being further down the goalkeeping pecking order.

His contract at Boundary Park is set to expire this month and it is suggested that the goalkeeper is poised to make a switch to Port Vale in the ongoing transfer window.

The Valiants are keen on reorganising their squad this summer in hopes of not being dragged into another relegation jostle next season.

The Vale Park outfit had a lacklustre record in terms of conceding goals last season and they are eager to fortify their goalkeeping ranks this summer.

Leutwiler will be looking for a fresh start in the Potteries.

Now all eyes will be on the Canada goalkeeper to see how well he fares in the League One campaign next term if his switch to Port Vale finally materialises this summer.
