Vicario completed a move to join Tottenham earlier this week and is preparing for life in England and the Premier League.
The Italian custodian has been brought in as the long-term successor to Hugo Lloris, who is expected to move on from Spurs in the ongoing transfer window.
However, Galli is not too pleased by Vicario’s move and admitted that he is always disappointed when Italian goalkeepers decide to leave Italy and move aboard.
He stressed one of the reasons he feels sad is that Empoli are now likely to bring in a foreign goalkeeper to replace the Spurs new boy despite Italy having a plethora of young talents to choose from.
The Fiorentina legend told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato: “When they go abroad I am always disappointed also because they are replaced by foreign goalkeepers.
“We have many young players who are ready for the step up but it takes courage.”
Inter were looking at Vicario as a potential replacement for Andre Onana before Spurs signed him.
