Onana has emerged as Ten Hag’s top target as he pushes to sign a new number-one goalkeeper in the ongoing transfer window.

Manchester United have already agreed on personal terms with the goalkeeper’s representatives and have held talks with Inter Milan.

However, the Red Devils are not prepared to match Inter’s asking price and are considering making offers for other goalkeeping targets.

But according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Ten Hag has reassured Onana about Manchester United’s willingness to sign him.

The Manchester United manager has spoken with his former Ajax man about the club’s seriousness in wanting to take him to Old Trafford.

Inter Milan are also optimistic about Manchester United wanting Onana despite interest in other goalkeepers.

They are expecting the Red Devils to table their first official offer for the Cameroonian early this week.

Onana is keen on a move to Old Trafford and is waiting for Manchester United to put in an acceptable bid with Inter.
