Onana is Manchester United’s primary goalkeeping target to replace David de Gea who left the club this summer after spending 12 years at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have already failed with two bids but talks with Inter have been progressing well as the club seek to sign the Cameroonian.

There were more talks between the two clubs as they push to agree on a deal that could be worth €55m this summer.

Onana is due to report for pre-season training with Inter on Thursday but according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews.it), those plans could change.

With Inter in advanced negotiations to sell Onana to Manchester United, the goalkeeper could be excused from reporting for pre-season with the Serie A giants this week.

The Nerazzurri could opt to keep him away given he is likely to leave the club in the coming days.

Onana has already agreed personal terms on a contract and is waiting for the two clubs to sort out a deal.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wants the Red Devils to secure a deal to sign the 27-year-old by the end of the week.
