The Spain international was unable to help Leeds avoid relegation from the Premier League last season and as things stand he will be playing in the Championship next term.

Rodrigo has never played below the first tier of a league competition since his opening campaign at Real Madrid B.

Several clubs have been linked with the goal-getter and it is claimed that Championship football may well not be something he experiences.

It is now viewed as increasingly inevitable that the 32-year-old leaves Elland Road this summer.

Rodrigo scored goals at Premier League level, finding the back of the net on 26 occasions for Leeds.

He cost the Whites a hefty fee of £27m to snap up from Spanish giants Sevilla in the summer of 2020.

Qatari side Al Rayyan are interested in Rodrigo, while he also has interest from Premier League sides during the window.
