Manchester City are keen to add centre-back to their squad and Leipzig’s Gvardiol is top of their transfer wish list, with talks having taken place.
The 21-year-old made 41 appearances for the German outfit last season and helped Leipzig win the German Cup in the previous campaign.
It has been suggested that Manchester City are closing in on Gvardiol and are set to take him to the Etihad.
However, Leipzig sporting director Eberl is clear that no deal has been agreed for Gvardiol to move to Manchester City and stressed that nothing is close to going through.
“There is no agreement with Manchester City”, Eberl told Sky Deutschland.
“Not even close.”
The defender remains a key target for Manchester City, who have been tipped to sign him.
Gvardiol has featured 87 times for Leipzig and it remains to be seen whether Manchester City will be able to bring the Croatian to the Etihad this summer.
