Giles spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough under Michael Carrick and was a key man for the north east club.
He has headed back to Wolves this summer, but it is unclear if he will depart the Premier League outfit, amid interest from top flight new boys Luton Town and Middlesbrough.
Now in a sign he may not be in Wolves’ plans, he has not travelled with the squad to Portugal for a training camp.
Giles is not in the travelling group heading to the sunnier climes of Portugal to continue their pre-season preparations.
Whether the development suggests a move away from Molineux is close for Giles remains to be seen.
Giles, 23, came through the youth set-up at Wolves and has been sent out on a series of loan stints away from the club to speed his development.
The left-sided player has turned out for Telford United, Shrewsbury Town, Coventry City, Rotherham United, Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough.
