Levy has been reluctant to lose Kane despite him entering the final year of his Spurs contract and the Tottenham chairman has already rejected two offers from Bayern Munich.

However, there is claimed to have been a fresh development in the saga as Tottenham owner Joe Lewis has told his chairman to sell the forward if he does not sign a new contract with the club.

Manchester United are believed to be considering getting back on the Kane trail this summer after abandoning it earlier in the transfer window due to the difficulties of negotiating with Levy.

And Fjortoft indicated that it could have been Levy’s plan all along – to use Bayern Munich’s interest to get the Red Devils back in the chase for Kane and get the best fee possible from the forward’s departure.

“The big conspiracy is of course”, the former Bundesliga star took to Twitter and wrote.

“Levy is using Bayern to get the fee for Kane sky-high.

“Then tell Manchester United that’s the minimum prize.”

Kane will not go on the offensive to force his way out of Spurs but has declined to sign a new contract with the club.
