The 27-year-old central midfielder was a key part of Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield last season.

And in the ongoing window Hojbjerg is subject to interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, who are keen on signing him.

It has been said that the Danish international is open to a move to Spain this summer but Tottenham are reluctant about letting him go.

Atletico Madrid have submitted an initial bid worth €20m to Spurs, which was immediately knocked back by Daniel Levy.

Tottenham have put a €42m price tag on Hojbjerg and they are refusing to budge from their position.

Both clubs are still in discussions over a possible deal but Atletico Madrid do not want to go over €25m range for the midfielder.

It has been suggested that Hojbjerg has agreed personal terms with the Spanish side but it remains to be seen whether Atletico Madrid will be able to agree a transfer fee with Tottenham for the player.
