With less than a week remaining in the transfer window, clubs are scurrying to get their transfer business done.
Reading, who were relegated from the Championship at the end of last season and have not made the brightest of starts to their League One campaign, are looking to add options to their squad in order to adequately equip themselves for an immediate comeback.
They are hunting loan deals in the Championship and asked Cardiff about Andy Rinomhota and Rubin Colwill.
Cardiff told Reading that they could not loan Colwill, but the situation could be different with Rinomhota.
The Reading academy graduate could be allowed to leave on loan, though the Royals will not be the only side keen if he is made available.
He only left Reading last summer after having managed 139 appearances for them over the course of four years.
It now remains to be seen whether Reading will have enough time to seal a deal to take their player back.
