Hull have been hoping to snap up Morton on loan, but Liverpool put any exit for the 20-year-old on hold due to concerns about midfield cover.
Signing Gravenberch from Bayern Munich has given Liverpool the assurance they need to now agree to loan out Morton.
They are in the process of sorting out the paperwork with Hull in order to finalise the midfielder’s loan switch.
Morton impressed while on loan at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship last season and Hull will feel signing him is a coup.
Liverpool will be keen for Morton to be playing on a regular basis for the Tigers.
Whether he has catching up to do on his match sharpness and fitness remains to be seen however.
Morton missed a big chunk of pre-season through injury and has only recently returned to training, though he is fully fit.
