Beale was allowed to overhaul the Rangers squad over the last transfer window and he brought in nine new faces for his team.
However, Rangers have made a poor start to the season, which has seen them fail to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League and fall four points behind Celtic in the title race.
A 1-0 defeat at home to an injury-riddled Celtic on Sunday brought further scrutiny on the new signings who failed to make an impact, with Beale even overlooking a number of them when picking his team.
Walker conceded that he was expecting more quality from Rangers on Sunday and stressed if the new signings cannot start over Kemar Roofe and Rabbid Matondo then what is the point of the club spending money on them in the summer.
He pointed out that Rangers again wilted under the pressure in a big game and the new boys made no impact whatsoever.
The former Scotland international said on the Go Radio Football Show: “They didn’t have any injuries apart from [Borna] Barisic.
“I just expected more from the Rangers players and I expected more quality.
“I don’t know who the game changers are and I think you have bought all those players and you still revert to Kemar Roofe and Rabbi Matondo from last season.
“I don’t know why these players were signed on decent money and I don’t know why they are not getting a start.
“Obviously, they are not making an impact in the big games and Rangers, yet again, have lost a big game when it mattered.”
There are already question marks over Beale’s future at the club following Rangers’ slow start to the season.
