Manchester United spent big money to snare the 20-year-old striker away from Atalanta in the recently concluded summer transfer window.

The Dane made his debut from the bench against Arsenal at the weekend and is expected to start games for the Red Devils after the international break.

Andersen was the most expensive Dane when Lyon signed him from Sampdoria in 2019 but Hojlund’s fee eclipsed his team-mate’s move four years ago.

The defender insisted that the forward deserves the tag of being the most expensive Dane and is certain that Manchester United have signed a top player in Hojlund.

He told Danish outlet Tipsbladet: “It’s annoying to be outdone.

“No, it’s great that Hojlund has been given this accolade. It is also deserved because he has done well.

“Manchester United have bought a talented striker.”

Andersen is already looking forward to facing his team-mate when Manchester United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League this season.

The defender stressed that there is curiosity around Hojlund in the Premier League and he has had to discuss his name with his Crystal Palace team-mates.

“It will be good to face Rasmus. I am sure I will be able to handle him.

“There have been some questions around him. Who he is and what kind of a player he is.

“So, I have given them information about him.”
