Gil, 22, made a permanent switch to Spurs from Sevilla in 2021 and spent the latter half of last season on loan at the Spanish side.
The Spanish star has yet to play in a competitive match for Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou this season after undergoing groin surgery in August.
However, he was spotted in the gym at Tottenham, training with his team-mates, earlier this week.
And it is now suggested that Gil is in the fray for selection imminently, something which will give Postecoglou another attacking option.
Gil has so far witnessed his on-field involvement limited under previous managers at Tottenham.
And he is now looking forward to accruing more minutes under the Australian boss who has garnered plaudits for the attacking fluidity he has brought in at Spurs.
Whether Gil can make his mark under Postecoglou or is shipped out in the January transfer window remains to be seen.
