Bamford suffered an injury at the end of pre-season and missed the beginning of the season under new boss Daniel Farke.

Since returning from the injury, he has made eight appearances for Leeds, but has yet to start a game for the Yorkshire outfit.

Bamford stated that he is currently training with the first-team squad and trying to build his match sharpness up.

He thinks that the sensible thing for him is to slowly integrate himself with the Leeds squad and keep racking up minutes week by week to help himself.

“I did all of pre-season obviously until the last game, which is when I got the injury and it was about seven or eight weeks”, Bamford said on the My Mate’s a Footballer podcast.

“You kind of train with your team, building that sharpness a little bit and then the sensible thing is to integrate yourself slowly in terms of minutes, like keep giving yourself more and more minutes as the weeks go by.”

With Georginho Rutter in form now, it remains to be seen whether Bamford will regain his spot in the starting line-up as the season progresses.
