Hull City, Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town are all looking closely at Derby County winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, according to the BBC.

The 31-year-old winger has been in impressive form for Derby in League One, scoring five times and laying on eight assists this season.

However, he is set to enter the final six months of his contract and Derby are facing the threat of losing one of their most important attackers in the middle of the season.

Several Championship clubs are looking for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window and Mendez-Laing has caught their eye.

It has been claimed that Hull, Birmingham and Huddersfield are all keeping a close watch on the Derby attacker.

Liam Rosenior wants to improve a Hull squad who are chasing a playoff spot in the Championship this season and could be tempted by Mendez-Laing.

Wayne Rooney will hope to exploit his connections with Derby to land the player for Birmingham next month, with Huddersfield also in the mix.

Whether Derby would cash in on Mendez-Laing in the January window remains to be seen, especially as they are fighting to win promotion from League One.
