MLS side LAFC are confident that they will be able to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris very soon, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Lloris has been frozen out of the picture at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou and had been expected to move on from the north London side in last summer’s transfer window.

The Frenchman is now closing in on ending his lengthy association with Tottenham however and looks to be bound for the United States.

MLS side LAFC want to sign the shot-stopper and they have been given the green light from Spurs to do so.

And it is claimed that LAFC are confident that they will be able to get the deal over the line very soon.

Lloris turned 37 years old earlier this month, but is in no mood to hang up his gloves just yet.

The goalkeeper would be the latest household name to head across the atlantic and will test himself in the MLS.

Former Spurs man Gareth Bale had a brief spell with LAFC in 2022 and won the MLS Cup.

Moving Lloris on will also remove him from Tottenham’s wage bill, though it is unclear if that will give boss Postecoglou extra wiggle room for new signings in the January transfer window.
