Newcastle United are keeping close tabs on Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall, who is also on the radar of West Ham United, according to The Athletic.
The 26-year-old defender is the club captain at the City Ground but was frozen out during the end times of former Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper.
The centre-back has been brought back into the fold by Nuno Espirito Santo and he made a cameo appearance against Newcastle on Boxing Day.
It is unclear whether Nottingham Forest still want to move the defender on, as they previously did, but Worrall has suitors in the Premier League.
David Moyes is interested in taking him to West Ham and it has been claimed that even Newcastle are monitoring his situation.
Eddie Howe is desperate for reinforcements amidst an injury crisis and poor run of form.
Worrall is a player Newcastle are tracking with a view to potentially signing him this month.
West Ham are set to part with Thilo Kehrer, while Nayef Aguerd is also attracting attention, and the Hammers could look to Worrall to fill the gap.
It remains to be seen how Forest react if they receive firm offers on their table for the club captain in the ongoing transfer window, and whether Worrall would choose West Ham or Newcastle if they both agree terms.
