Enzo Maresca has claimed that Leicester City will not be able to sign Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi unless they can sell players first this month.

Sensi has been heavily linked with a move to the Championship leaders in the ongoing winter transfer window.

Leicester are working on a deal behind the scenes and the Inter star has given his approval to the move to the King Power Stadium but the deal remains blocked for the moment.

Inter are still waiting for Leicester to make their official bid but it seems the Foxes need to outgoing business first before they can bring in a new face.

The Leicester boss admitted that he is a fan of the Inter midfielder but conceded that the club are not in a position to buy anyone until they can sell players in the ongoing window.

Maresca said in a press conference: “I always said the same. When you are strong and can get stronger, it’s better.

“The only thing I can say about Sensi is that I know him and he’s a player I really like. We are not allowed to do something.

“We have to sell to do something.”

Sensi will be out of contract in the summer and Inter are prepared to sell him for around €2m to €3m.
