Newcastle United have made an enquiry for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, but the player is not interested in a January move.

Eddie Howe is desperate for new signings and the injury to Joelinton has further exacerbated the crisis in Newcastle’s engine room.

Newcastle do not have the financial leeway to bring in players on transfer fees and even loan deals are becoming a tough nut to crack due to demands of selling clubs.

A move for Kalvin Phillips has been shelved for now due to Manchester City’s demands and the club now have their eyes on Bayern Munich’s Kimmich.

According to German magazine Sport Bild, the Magpies have probed the possibility of signing the Germany midfielder in the winter window.

However, they are set to face disappointment as the player is not interested in leaving the German champions in January.

He wants to spend the whole season in Bavaria before taking a call on his future in the summer.

A move in the next window is a possibility and Bayern Munich would be open to negotiating a transfer.

But Kimmich is not ready to come in and solve Howe’s midfield headaches in the middle of the season.
