Sheffield Wednesday look to have beaten Birmingham City to the signature of Leeds United winger Ian Poveda, according to the BBC.
Poveda is out of favour at Elland Road under Daniel Farke and the Leeds boss is prepared to offload him tonight.
Tony Mowbray, who managed Poveda at Blackburn Rovers, wants a reunion at Birmingham and Blues have been chasing his signature.
They have been battling Sheffield Wednesday though and it appears the Owls have won.
Poveda is now expected to complete a move to Hillsborough where he will link up with Danny Rohl.
The winger will be thrown straight into a battle for survival in the Championship at Wednesday.
The deal is expected to be a permanent one and end Poveda’s association with Leeds.
Losing out on Poveda will be a blow for Birmingham and it remains to be seen if they now look elsewhere.
