Barry Ferguson is certain that Philippe Clement will not allow the Rangers side to think too far forward and will keep their feet on the ground in the Scottish Premiership title race.
A win at home against Aberdeen tonight with a two or more goal margin would help Rangers leapfrog Celtic and reach the summit of the Scottish Premiership standings.
Rangers look like the side with momentum behind them in the title race while Celtic look increasingly uncomfortable and short of confidence with several key players out injured.
Clement’s side are now getting termed the favourites to win the league but Ferguson stressed that the Belgian will keep the Rangers players firmly grounded in the race to the top.
He insisted that the Rangers boss has an immense amount of respect for the opponents and he will not allow his side to get carried away by emotion at this stage of the season.
The Rangers legend said on the Go Radio Football Show: “What I like about this Rangers team and the manager – he won’t allow them to get carried away.
“He knows what he is up against and he respects all the opponents.
“He won’t allow them to get carried away and will keep their feet on the ground.”
Rangers looked down and out in the title race when Michael Beale was sacked in October but Clement has changed the fortunes of their season.
