Cheltenham Town boss Darrell Clarke has pointed out that Charlton Athletic star Alfie May can be a huge threat, but told the Addicks that his team know all about their attacker.
The 30-year-old forward joined the Addicks in the summer and has scored 17 times in 33 occasions for Charlton so far.
May scored twice against his former club on their visit to the Valley in November and on Tuesday the forward will return to Whaddon Road when Charlton take on Cheltenham.
Clarke admitted that May has done well since joining Charlton this season and admitted that the experienced striker can be a handful on his day.
However, he warned that Cheltenham players know a lot about May and added that he is hoping that the fans will unsettle him during the game to hurt the Addicks.
“He has done very well for this football club and it kick-started his career and he moved to a bigger club and he is obviously still finding the net there”, Clarke told Cheltenham Town’s official media.
“He is a handful on his day, but he is a player that my players know a lot about.
“Fans will give him a good reception.
“But when the game starts, I hope they are on his case because we need to unsettle Charlton and unsettle their team to try and pick up the points.”
May has only scored once in his last ten league games and Nathan Jones will be hoping that the experienced striker will find his shooting boots against his former club tonight.
