Manchester United star Diogo Dalot has insisted that the atmosphere inside Old Trafford for the FA Cup win over Liverpool is something he has never experienced since he came to the club in 2018.
Dalot was one of only two recognised defenders who were left on the pitch for Manchester United as they beat Liverpool 4-3 in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The Portuguese has been having a great season for a team who have been struggling for consistency this season and is showing the reasons why Manchester United invested in him in 2018.
Dalot stressed that more than the result, he enjoyed the atmosphere the fans created to push the team on and admitted that he never had such an experience as a Manchester United player until Sunday.
He insisted that the kind of atmosphere he experienced at Old Trafford is why everyone wants to play for Manchester United and it was a magical evening, which cannot be described in words.
Dalot told broadcaster Sony Sports Network: “It was really special today.
“Not only the result but the atmosphere probably I have never experienced since I arrived at this club.
“It was probably the best moment at Old Trafford for me.
“The scenes I saw – a lot of people crying, I saw people showing their emotions and appreciating the effort we put into that game.
“This makes me think this is why I came here; this is why every little kid dreams of playing for Manchester United.
“They have this special magic inside the stadium, which I cannot describe what it is and you have to come here and watch a game.”
Manchester United will hope that Sunday’s result will inspire the team to end the season on a strong footing.
