Recently relegated Burnley could have Coventry City manager Mark Robins in their plans in the event they have to replace Vincent Kompany.
A 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday meant that the Clarets were relegated back to the second division just one year after being promoted with 101 points.
Questions are being asked over whether Kompany will stay at the club and it is suggested Burnley are already looking at alternatives.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Coventry boss Robins has been put on Burnley’s shortlist to replace Kompany.
He would be accompanied by former Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole as assistant manager.
Robins has been Coventry’s manager since 2017 and led the team to the Championship playoff final last year, where they fell short to Luton Town.
He also led his team to the FA Cup semi-final this season, where they gave Manchester United a run for their money.
It now remains to be seen what decision is taken by the Burnley decision-makers regarding the managerial position at the end of the season.
Robins though is in their thoughts in the event they need toa ct.
