Everton and West Ham United have ‘started contact’ to ‘explore the possibility’ of signing former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo this summer.

Arthur had a terrible loan spell at Liverpool where he hardly played any football due to injuries and returned to Juventus last summer.

He has been on loan at Fiorentina this season and has managed to rekindle his career in Florence with his performances.

Juventus are still pushing to sell the player this summer and he is again attracting interest from the Premier League.

According to Italian outlet TuttoJuve, Everton and West Ham have ‘started contact’ in order to ‘explore the possibility’ of bringing Arthur in.

Sean Dyche is looking to add to his midfield this summer after ensuring Everton’s survival in the Premier League and West Ham are also looking for additions in the middle of the park.

Both Premier League sides have opened talks over trying to sign the Brazilian midfielder ahead of the transfer window.

Juventus are open to selling him and are looking for somewhere around €20m from his departure this summer.

It is unclear whether Arthur sees a return to the Premier League in a favourable light after his poor experience at Liverpool.
