Aston Villa target Joao Felix has signalled that he is ready to accept a pay cut to join Chelsea, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Samu Omorodion to Chelsea fell through last night after the Premier League side tried to make some changes in the deal.
Omorodion’s collapsed deal is jeopardising Conor Gallagher’s potential move to Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are now looking for solutions.
They are currently in discussions with Atletico Madrid over bringing in Felix, who is expected to leave the club this summer.
He is Aston Villa manager Unai Emery’s dream target this summer but the Portuguese could end up going up against the Spaniard in the Premier League this season.
Even though the Villans have been linked with other alternatives to Felix, Emery sees the Atletico Madrid man as his priority.
The Portuguese spent the second half of the 2022/23 season at Chelsea on a loan deal and he is interested in coming back to Stamford Bridge.
Aston Villa are likely to be watching closely what happens with Atletico Madrid and Chelsea as they try to get a deal in place and whether it takes Felix off the table as an option for them.
