Jordan James is undergoing a medical at Rennes ahead of completing a proposed move away from Birmingham City this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 20-year-old midfielder has a year left on his Blues contract and has been heavily linked with a move away from the club.

The Welshman has been a player who has attracted interest from clubs in several top leagues of Europe.

Rennes have a deal in place to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal from Birmingham in the ongoing transfer window.

It has been claimed that the 20-year-old is being put through a medical at Rennes at this moment.

The French club are pushing to get the deal over the line for the signature of the young midfielder.

Once he passes a medical, the Welsh midfielder will sign a long-term contract with Rennes.

James, who made 95 Championship appearances for Blues, has eleven caps to his name for the Welsh national team as well.
