Southampton are set to hold fresh talks with a club working overtime to try to sign one of their players this summer and the side in question are hopeful of a positive outcome.

Saints have been active in the transfer market this summer but they are expected to sign more players before the window slams shut, with exits also expected; Armel Bella-Kotchap looks like the next player out with a Hoffenheim move agreed.

Powerful striker Paul Onuachu has been linked with a move away from Southampton all summer and his departure would help Saints to reinvest the money by the end of this month.

The 30-year-old Nigerian has made it clear that he wants to leave after he spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor; he is keen on a return.

The Trabzon-based outfit are offering €7m for the striker but the price is not enough for Southampton.

Onuachu’s agent will soon speak to Southampton to sort out his client’s future for the coming season

And according to Turkish outlet Sabah, the Super Lig side will also sit at the table with Southampton too.

Trabzonspor are hopeful of a positive outcome as the Turkish giants are aware the saga has been dragging on for much of the summer.

They want time to turn their attentions elsewhere if no deal can be done with Southampton.
